Italy Trip Recap
We are officially back from our 2 week trip to Europe! If you saw my previous post talking about our first few days you know Jaimey and I spent most of our time in Italy. We were able to visit Venice, Florence, and Bologna during our time there. We also were able to take a trip up into Austria and Germany to check out the beautiful cities of Salzburg and Munich. This was definitely my favorite portion of the trip. If you are ever planning on traveling to that area I highly suggest visiting both cities. They were filled with so much beauty, delicious food, and amazing places to explore. Here are some pics and info about our time in Salzburg!
Salzburg was perfect. I could totally picture myself living there biking everywhere and just enjoying life and the culture. Fun restaurants with delicious food, cool places to check out, beautiful scenery, and kind people. And now on to Munich!
Munich was also amazing. The first day there we took a tour with this awesome guide who really opened my eyes to all the city had to offer including the history, places to check out, food, beer gardens, etc. The second day we decided to rent bikes to cover more ground. It was the best idea, we got to see so much of the city and just cruise around. One of the most interesting things I saw there was at the Eisbach River where people come from all over to surf in a manmade river. It was really awesome watching them surf a wave created by the force of this river rushing out of a tunnel. Check out this post to see what I'm talking about! Another awesome spot in Munich was the very centralized huge market/beer garden called biergarten viktualienmarkt. The first day we walked around and shopped for lunch at the market stands and ate delicious food. Overall such a wonderful time and wonderful city!
The second leg of the trip we traveled down to Bologna and Florence. Lots of yummy pasta, gelato and beautiful views. Here are some photos and some places we went!
Bottega Portici - Awesome spot to get homemade delicious pasta in Bologna
Gusta Pizza - In Florence the best pizza in Italy in my opinion
I Toscani - Fun little bistro we went to a few times to eat delicious bread, cheese and prosciutto
Piazzale Michelangelo - The most beautiful city views of Florence from a hilltop. Definitely must go to spot
Definitely check out these spots of you're ever in the area!
One of our last stops was to Prosecco Road. Literally a whole town and hillside filled with Prosecco grapes and wineries in the Italian countryside. So beautiful and such good wine. They even had a wine and prosecco vending machine, kinda wild. Also I fell in love with a baby cow while I was there haha!
I am so thankful Jaimey and I were able to take some time away to travel with good friends. We had such a blast exploring and eating more than we should have #noregrets. This trip definitely gave me the travel bug and I am already mentally planning our next adventure!
