In an effort to establish some consistency with the blog, I decided to start posting every Friday with some of my favorite things from the past week, whether it be music, recipes, fashion things, quotes, etc. So here's my first FRIDAY FAVORITES!
To start off I wanted to share some of my recent favorite wardrobe pieces.
I love the crushed velvet slip dress. It's such a versatile piece. Pair it with boots and a cardigan sweater for a casual day look or heels and be ready for nighttime. I originally found this little slip in the mega clearance section at Target! Unfortunately making it no longer available but FEAR NOT I found some similar pieces and will share them below! I have loaded up on chunky sweaters for the winter season and I think every single one is from H&M. I'm telling ya, they have been killing it (who am I kidding, they always are). This grey knit is one of my particular favorites. I like pairing it with skinny jeans and boots. Last but not least, the jersey turtleneck dress from Anthro. Once again, found this piece on clearance for a great deal (I'm obsessed with sale sections and bargain shopping). It is so stretchy and comfortable. I love the straight line silhouette and turtleneck. I would definitely pair this with a beanie, trench coat, and combat boot. Shop the looks below!
Now if you read my New Years Resolution post, you know that I am eating vegan for the month of January. I wanted to experiment a little with the diet and see how I feel and learn more about eating plant based. I have been on the hunt for yummy vegan recipes to try this month and have really loved everyone of them. Now this recipe is not particularly vegan related but it is GLUTEN FREE and is one of the most delicious loaves of bread I've made and eaten in a while. If you love hearty seedy bread, you will love this one. So here's Josey Baker's Adventure Bread!
Here's some songs that have been on repeat this past week!
- Oh My God | By Luke Sital-Singh | Youtube
- Palace | By Sam Smith | Youtube
- Only Son | By Shakey Graves | Youtube
- Dream | Bishop Briggs | Youtube
- Across The Room | By ODESZA (feat. Leon Bridges) | Youtube
Also I posted a new cover video to my youtube channel this week so I will share that here too!
I'll finish with a favorite quote of the week. I have been reading #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso. If you haven't read it, I would highly suggest it. I have gained so much inspiration through reading her book. It is encouraging and empowering. I feel like all things happen for a reason, even bad things or failures. We need to have the right mindset, to be able to see past the frustration, hurt, or damage that may have happened and look for the potential opportunity. Whether that opportunity is a learned lesson, a closed door leading to a newly opened one, etc. It's so much about perspective.
